Giuseppe obtained his PhD in economic and social history at the University of Florence (Italy) and undertook post-doctoral research as Jean Monnet Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies of the European University Institute (EUI). After his stay as Visiting Fellow at the University of Reading (UK) he held the position of Research Associate at the EUI, where he collaborated with Youssef Cassis on the pilot project dedicated to the ‘Memory of Financial Crises’. He has published on the political use of the memory of financial crises, the history of the Italian banking system during the interwar years, the evolution of financial elites in historical perspective, and the economic and urban impact of big sport events on host cities/countries. Within the current project, Giuseppe will be focusing on the cultural memory of the major financial crises of the twentieth century (work package 3)
